You can now buy a large, Aussie-built full off-grid composite caravan, with premium finishes just like you find on a pricey European road racer.
Queensland's Rhinomax Campers has revealed details of its new top-shelf 'Vantage Edition' off-road couple's caravan, complete with bespoke high-end fit-out.
A five-minute Youtube 'teaser' video doesn't provide too many specifics about the new Queensland-built top-shelf van, nor does the Rhinomax website, on what Rhinomax is claiming is the "pinnacle of high-performance, ultra-luxury expedition vehicles".
However, the Queensland manufacturer has revealed that it's based on Rhinomax's range-topping Lost Trak 18.5 Hybrid Tourer; an already very well equipped and beautifully finished 18ft 6in full-height off-road van that retails from $185,990.
The starting price for the Lost Trak Vantage Edition is a lot higher than that, at $230,000, but for that you will get more than double the solar power (2000W of rooftop and auxiliary panels combined) of the standard model, and up to 21kWh of lithium battery storage (compared to 660Ah lithium battery power that comes standard on the 18.5 Lost Trak.)
Smart management also goes up a notch, with Rhinomax looking to the marine industry and incorporating Victron electricals and an app-controlled CZone digital switching set-up, of the type fitted to $5million motor-yachts.
The new Rhinomax Lost Trak Vantage also gets hand-stitched Nappa leather seat upholstery, while Italian Alcantara lines the headboard behind the queen bed - the type of premium finishes you get lashings of in the Aston Martin supercar of the same model name.
There's also a premium hi-fi system which Rhinomax says, together with the Smart TV, is "seamlessly integrated into the Vantage's design". To top it off, the quality cabinetry gets an auto-inspired metallic coat.
Rhinomax says Cruisemaster ATX airbag suspension is fitted as standard, and we also spotted in the video a large washing machine installed in one of the outside lockers!
Other than that, the limited-edition Lost Trak Vantage should include all the upmarket features you get with the standard 2.1m wide Lost Trak 18.5, including the tough exoskeleton construction with 'Rhino skin' panels that enables Rhinomax to offer a "100 per cent dust- and water-proof" guarantee.
The Rhinomax Lost Trak Vantage Edition is the latest big-ticket Aussie off-grid caravan to hit the market, offering cashed-up buyers something a bit special and different to the norm. However, the auto-inspired touches in this latest six-star van come as no surprise, considering one of the Rhinomax co-founders was previously employed by Rolls-Royce in the UK.
Rhinomax says it only has eight build allocations in 2025 for its new ultra-luxury model. Buyers just need to plonk down $1000 to secure a spot in the production queue at the Kunda Park, Queensland factory.
