Sunseeker caravan with the lot up for grabs

Fully loaded 23ft family off-grid caravan to go to highest bidder at Queensland Supershow

Visitors to the 2022 Queensland Caravan Supershow in early-June have another reason to get excited, with a very special Australian-built Sunseeker family caravan being auctioned for charity during the event.

Loaded up to the max, the triple bunk, tandem-axle off-roader has a features list as long as its 23 foot body, including Cruisemaster Level 3 ATX airbag suspension, disc brakes, dust reduction system, automatic satellite TV, a gas space heater, rooftop air-conditioner, bike rack, smart management system, a bamboo queen mattress, 224 litre compressor fridge/freezer and a wall mounted washing machine.

The Sunseeker Desert Storm family 'van is set up for extended off-grip camping with 1260w of rooftop solar feeding an Enerdrive 600Ah lithium battery set-up, with a 2600W inverter to help power a range of 240v appliances. There's also 340 litre fresh water and 85 litre grey water storage for when touring remote regions.

Sunseeker said the big 4500kg ATM 'van was inspired by the dream caravan of popular Youtube family travellers, Trip in a Van.

"This amazing van is a close twin of the one Trip In A Van will be picking up from the dealership in the coming weeks," the Queensland distributor of the Melbourne-built Sunseeker caravans said.

A spacious floorplan includes a north-south queen bed for the parents, large kitchen, big club lounge and triple bunks and ensuite at the rear.

The auction will take place at 4pm on Saturday June 11 on stand #2735 at the Brisbane Showgrounds, with registration for bidders open from 3:15pm.

Sunseeker says all proceeds above the reserve price will go to the Daniel Morcombe Foundation, which provides child safety education and support to young victims of crime.

No reserve has been stated but it's likely the winning bid will be well into six figures, with a similar but slightly smaller Sunseeker Desert Storm currently advertised for $200,000 driveaway.

Sunseeker says the successful bidder will also be able to avoid a long COVID-induced wait by taking delivery of the 'van not long after the auction.

Full details about the auction 'van can be found here.
