Queensland’s Sunland Caravans has recalled some of its Patriot vans fitted with a front storage box due to a potential fire risk.
The affected vans breach gas regulations due to having holes in the vertical divider that's required between the sections of the front toolbox where the LPG cylinders are kept.
Under the regulations, the vertical divider that separates the cylinder compartment from the general storage area must be sealed to the sides and floor of the compartment.
As this is not the case with the Patriot models, which were sold between 8 July 2015 and 20 July 2017, gas may leak into other sections of the storage compartment, posing a possible fire risk.
Owners are being advised to remove any potential ignition sources such as batteries, torches or lighters from the adjacent compartments and contact Sunland Australia RV on 07 5499 2250 to arrange to have a plate fitted to cover the holes.
