The owners of Melbourne's Prime Edge Caravans are urging all caravan businesses to install GPS tracking devices and other security devices, after the fortunate recovery of two luxury caravans stolen recently from its premises.
The Epping, Victoria-based manufacturer posted startling CCTV footage last week of a brazen break-and-enter operation that resulted in the theft of two brand-new caravans parked outside the Melbourne factory.
Run by brothers Vlad and Nick Suplinovski, Prime Edge was desperate to retrieve the stolen caravans, as it's believed its insurance didn't cover theft of property located outside the locked building.
The family business was offering two $25,000 reward payments for any information that led to the recovery of the 'vans.
However, Prime Edge announced late last week on social media that it was "relieved and grateful" that the two customer vans worth around $300,000 had been tracked down by police and found "dumped in a residential court in a Melbourne suburb not damaged". The company also posted a video of the 'vans being returned to the factory (see below).
"A huge thank you to our neighbours who provided CCTV footage, this played an important role in helping the police track down the vans," the nine-year old caravan company said.
"Through their investigation other affected businesses have also been linked to our case, allowing further action to be taken.
"To everyone who shared our story online, reached out or kept an eye out, big thank you (for) your support (it) truly made the difference."
"To our customers we deeply appreciate your patience and understanding during this difficult time. We’re now working closely with the police to assess the condition of the vans," the manufacturer of premium locally-built 'vans said.
"We are taking all necessary steps to strengthen our security and we urge all businesses to do the same. Make sure your factories and vans are locked, your alarm and CCTV footage are active."
