Following in the tyre tracks of its latest double slide out Optimum motorhome, Jayco has given its updated, range-topping Sterling caravan the twin slide out treatment.
Available only on some layouts within the 21ft to 25ft size range, the electric slide outs are activated via a switch and allow for more room through the bedroom and dinette sections.
As with the rest of the revamped 2011 Sterling range, a new palette of optional leather upholstery colours are available on the slide out models, along with patented aluminium furniture construction and a 150 litre fridge.
Other 2011 interior upgrades across all Sterling vans include Italian styled door handles, a new square vanity basin in the ensuite and energy efficient LED lighting.
The Sterling's hail dent resistant, fibreglass skinned body is built using an aluminium frame bonded with ply, and sits on a hot dipped galvanised chassis.
Jayco marketing chief, Andrew Ryan, said that the double slide out option available on some Sterling variants is becoming increasingly popular with buyers.
"Customers are increasingly choosing to upgrade, by selecting optional extras such as leather upholstery, washing machines as well as the electric slide out lounge and bed," Ryan said.
"We were one of the first Australian companies to introduce the electric slide out function and we have seen a rise in the number of orders for the slide out feature in other models."
Recommend retail prices for the slide-out models at Page Bros in Seaford, Victoria start at $56,000 for the 21ft Sterling with single slide out.
The slide out option on the Sterling is available for an additional $3000, depending on the layout, while the double slide out costs an additional $6000.
All Sterling vans come with three years road side assistance and a 12 month warranty.
