Remarking on his revolutionary Model T Fords, Henry Ford made famous the words, "You can have any colour you like as long as it’s black".
Fortunately, not long after car manufacturers started introducing a range of colour options for drivers not wanting to look like funeral directors or gangsters.
Now UK manufacturer Stealth Caravans is set to change the look of the caravan industry by allowing buyers to personalise their Stealth van with a choice of colours for the nosecone.
Unlike the limited paint palettes provided by most modern car manufacturers, Stealth is offering more than 250 colours available at the ralcolours.com website.
Buyers just need to quote the colour reference code from the website and, for an additional £495 ($790) they get the colourful nosecone along with matching stripes.
Stealth Caravans managing director Alex Murphy explained: "If you want a bright orange to stand out from the crowd then we can do that - or if you would prefer a stylish 'pastel blue' then it is also available."
"Caravans can often appear like white goods and look identical to one another," he said. “By being able to choose your own desired colour, it presents a fantastic opportunity to stand out from other caravan owners and add your own personal touch."

We're not sure if the idea will kick off in Australia, although Bedfordshire-based Stealth Caravans reckons its ‘Personalise’ service is unique to the UK market and will "change the look of the touring industry in 2011".
