Australian outdoor and camping accessories company Explore Planet Earth has introduced a cleverly designed six-person touring tent that rivals the 30 second OzTent in speed and ease of set-up.
Unveiled at Melbourne Leisurefest, the Speedy Earth Tent is made from a waterproof-rated, Teflon-coated polycotton ripstop material and features a unique, patented aluminium external frame. It weighs 29.6kg and folds down into a bag measuring 145 x 35cm.
Once unfolded on the ground it’s an easy, one-person job to erect the main tent in around a minute by sliding and locking the two outer poles on either side into place, then inserting the two flexible poles in each inside corner to lift the roof.
Other features include a heavy duty PVC floor, four three-way windows and two large doors with no-see-um mesh, accessory pockets, power cord entry, and an awning with three adjustable awning poles.
At its highest point it’s 1.97m high inside, allowing most people to stand up, while there’s up to 4.7m x 2.9m indoor floorspace with the standard peaked side walls and front wall that attach to the awning in place.
The Speedy Earth Tent is expected to hit the stores soon, priced around $1950. For stockists, click here, or watch the set-up video below.
