Spacious new slimline roof tent from ARB
New Intrepid clam-shell rooftop tent boasts class-leading interior spaceARB has released an innovative new rooftop tent that it claims offers a third more internal space than traditional clamshell tents.
Priced from $4495, the new ARB Intrepid slimline aluminium roof tent comes in three different widths (1285mm, 1400mm, 1600mm) and is jam-packed with features including a patented bi-fold hinge design, three door entry, internal LED lighting and 'smart' storage.
"With 36 per cent more internal space than traditional clamshells, Intrepid gives you the freedom to get changed with ease, sleep either end, or simply kick back in comfort no matter the weather," the 51-year old business said on Facebook.
"Yet when it’s time to travel, it packs down to an ultra-slim 18cm profile and weighs just 70kg (smallest 2.0 model), keeping things lightweight, aerodynamic and ready for the next destination."
ARB is also promising a "rapid 60 second set-up time, through quad stainless steel gas struts".
The new Intrepid model also gets a 50mm thick mattress that comes with a 15mm coiled condensation mat layer, and a quilted, water-resistant mattress protector.
A range of optional accessories are available, including a cross bar kit, solar panels, internal recline chair, shoe organiser and thermal skin insulation. The standard colour is black, with optional colour coding available.
The new Intrepid sits just under the range-topping auto-opening Altitude in ARB's ever-expanding roof tent line-up.
