Snowy River adopts fixed tow-away pricing

Melbourne-based Snowy River has joined caravan industry heavyweights Jayco and New Age in offering standardised pricing across its nationwide dealer network.

The fixed ‘tow-away’ pricing roll-out sees the same advertised online prices for Snowy River’s 16-model full-height caravan line-up, regardless of which state or territory the dealer is located in.

Operating since 2015 and now one of Australia’s biggest-selling imported caravan brands, Snowy River said the implementation of its new nationwide delivery network was “the result of rigorous testing and meticulous planning over the last six to eight months”.

“Our unique tow-away pricing strategy... ensures equal pricing for every consumer across Australia,” explained Snowy River Marketing Manager, Yathin Balgobind.

“Whether you’re in the bustling city of Melbourne, the serene landscapes of Launceston, the vibrant life of Perth, or tropical Townsville, we promise the same pricing with no hidden costs.

“This marks a milestone in our journey towards enhancing brand credibility. Our goal is to offer the highest degree of transparency and visibility to our dealers and valued consumers.”

As is the case with many other Melbourne-based RV brands, Snowy River caravans that were previously sold from dealers in more remote locations like Perth or Townsville were priced significantly higher than those delivered closer to Melbourne or Sydney, due to greater freight and delivery costs.

The new ‘fixed price’ strategy sees the brand’s entry-level, 12-variant SRC touring van line-up start at $55,990 for the 14ft SRC-14 couple’s ensuite van, rising to $79,490 for the 22ft SRC-22S slide-out model.

Online pricing for the latest four-variant SRT Multi Terrain caravan range starts at $83,990 for the 19ft SRT-19 couple’s ensuite van, rising to $89,990 for the 22ft SRT-22F family bunk model.

To coincide with the new price ‘equalization’ program, Snowy River also recently freshened up its SRC composite touring caravan range, with a number of updates including a new front nose design and fibreglass window protector, new-design 15in and 16in rims, aluminium-framed windows, picnic table and entry door, and a new spare wheel rear mounting point and wireless rear camera.

The MY23 Snowy River SRC caravan range also now comes with a 100Ah lithium battery system with twin 180W solar panels and an instant hot water system, along with built-in wireless phone chargers and new LED strip lighting inside.

After teasing a prototype at last year’s Queensland Supershow, production versions of a new four-model SRT Multi Terrain range were also released earlier this year. The new Snowy River ‘tough road’ vans are fitted with a number of ‘off-grid’ features as standard including a Dometic dust reduction system, front and rear floodlights, 16in wheels with mud terrain tyres, an A-frame toolbox and a 200Ah lithium battery system with three 180W flexible rooftop solar panels.

The MY23 SRT models also come standard with an independent coil suspension and 190L fresh and 100L grey water capacity, while interior enhancements include black tapware, a leather finish upholstery and the fitment of a Thetford 174L compressor fridge.

Later this year Snowy River is also expected to roll out production versions of a new pop-top caravan which was also first revealed at the 2022 Queensland Supershow, followed by a new range of hybrid models.

Meanwhile, some recent changes to its retail network will see Snowy River opening the doors to two new Victorian dealers in Frankston and Traralgon next month.
