Jayco is launching another new compact, hard-wall camper model at this year's Queensland Caravan Supershow, but even better news is that you can win one!
While Jayco is keeping tight-lipped about all the features and specifications of its new J-Pod X box camper, before its public unveiling at Brisbane's RNA Showgrounds on June 7, we do know from the online promotion for the major prize at the show that it's valued at $29,490, or about $2500 more than the current top-spec J-Pod Outback.
Judging by a handful of photos supplied by Jayco Queensland dealer Brisbane Camperland, the new J-Pod X appears to blend elements from the larger CrossTrak hybrid with the standard J-Pod teardrop camper, including creating a kitchen recess under the rear tailgate and adding a new side entry door.
The rear kitchen recess has space for a 45 litre fridge, while a stainless kitchen slides out from the side to reveal a sink with tap, food prep bench, and a cooktop that connects to a 9kg gas bottle.
Other features include at least one side window, roof racks to hold a kayak or bike, and a 270 degree Batwing awning.
The new J-Pod X looks to have a similar design to the Chinese-built Lumberjack Sorrento, which retails for around $40,000 but comes loaded with equipment including a 105Ah AGM battery and rooftop solar panel, off-road suspension and tyres.
The J-Pod X also looks geared up for rough road travel with a set of black alloys and chunky tyres, a Cruisemaster DO-35 coupling and, most probably, Jayco's J-Tech independent suspension.
"The all-new J-Pod X is a lightweight, yet tough camper trailer, perfect for couples or singles. Towable behind your SUV or four-wheel drive, it’s the ideal choice for all your next adventure," it says in the promotional blurb.
The new J-Pod X camper will be on display at Stand 900- Expo Place, and showgoers will need to scan unique QR codes and enter details at five different locations at the Brisbane Showgrounds, to be in the running to win the major prize.
Jayco will be one of more than 220 exhibitors showcasing some of the latest and greatest recreational vehicles and camping accessories at the popular annual Queensland caravan show.
Showgoers will also be able to attend weights and towing masterclasses during the six-day event, as well as watch off-road experts demonstrate the capabilities of their tow vehicles and RVs at the Offroad 4x4 Towing Test Track. Seminars including 'mastering the van-life' and 'making money on the road' will also be conducted by a number of 'vanbassadors' and camping influencers.
Also of special interest will be the stand of local dealer Sunseeker, where a caravan will be built and auctioned off during the show, with proceeds going to the Danial Morcombe Foundation.
