Exhibitor numbers will be down by 20 per cent to around 250 at this year’s Melbourne Leisurefest show compared to last year, but visitors will be compensated with a special deal from organisers of a cut-price, two-day pass costing $20 for adults and $15 for concession cardholders.
Taking up 44,000sq.m of indoor and outdoor display area at the Sandown Racecourse from October 8-11, the Melbourne Leisurefest promises a number of Victorian show debuts among the thousands of new RVs and accessories on display.
Under the banner of Melbourne dealer Canterbury Caravans, the new three-model range of Australian-built Bailey Rangefinder caravans will be displayed at a show for the first time, including an entry-level 20ft 2in Astro model expected to be in a new, white pearl-like exterior colour.
Custom Melbourne builder Van Cruiser is expected to have at least a couple of its brightly coloured Outlaw toy hauler caravans at the show, while NSW motorhome specialist Suncamper will display its new range of Entrada caravans.
Melbourne manufactuer Sunliner should have on display an example of its latest, entry-level mid-size Switch motorhome, while Bolwell RV after a lengthy absence from the show circuit will display updated 2015 versions of its cutting-edge Edge and Air models.
Under new Melbourne dealership the Avan Super Centre, Avan is expected to have one of the largest displays at the show including many models from its Avan, Golf and Knaus brands, while new Melbourne dealer Jefferson RV World will have a full range of the latest, Australian-built Winnebago motorhomes on display.
There will be some exciting new RV accessories launched at the show too, including Al-Ko’s new independent trailing arm coil suspension and a new wireless remote control jockey wheel from Australian company Optitec.
Also exhibiting for the first time at Sandown will be fledgling budget caravan park chain Kui Parks and New Zealand-based peer-to-peer online RV rental platform Share a Camper, which wants to set up operations in Australia.
The 8th Melbourne Leisurefest will also feature kid’s activities and rides, visitor prizes, and live music and demonstrations on the main stage.
Parking is free at the racecourse and nearby railway station. See the event website for further details.
