With 150 exhibitors and 20,000 people expected to attend it might not be the biggest caravan show in Australia, but this year’s Penrith Caravan, Camping and Holiday Expo will still have plenty of the latest and greatest RV-related products on display.
Making its first public outing at the Penrith show, which runs from September 9-11 at the Penrith Panthers Exhibition Centre, will be the new Bailey Rangefinder Comet, the first slide-out caravan from the Australian manufacturing arm of the British RV giant. Canberra-based Independent Trailers, will display the latest versions of the Bolwell rough-road Edge hybrid caravan and compact Air expandable camper, while Sydney’s Truck Camper Sales will show three new, imported models from California-based slide-on speciliast Lance Campers.
These will include an Iveco Daily-based ‘motorhome’ slide-on, the compact 650 slide-on suitable for Toyota HiLux-sized utes, and a unique set-up combining the Lance 825 camper with a large cage up front for transporting dogs.
As far as accessories go, Coast to Coast will unveil a new and improved camper privacy sunscreen, and Pocket Power Australia is displaying a great new product for mobility-restricted travellers, the lithium battery-powered DO9 collapsible wheelchair that fits in the boot of your car and weighs just 23.5kg (see video below).
As well as free parking, food and drink vendors and $8000 in prizes to be won, there will be free kids’ entertainment including jumping castles, a petting zoo and face painting.
The dog-friendly show is open from 9am - 5pm (closes 4pm Sunday) and tickets (purchased online or at the gate) cost $15 for adults and $10 concession, while children 16 and under are free when accompanied by an adult.
