Silver Fire Australia is offering a number of the enviro-friendly, fuel-efficient stoves, from the smallest units that slot into a backpack, to larger stoves suitable for domestic or larger RV use.
The cleverly-designed wood-fired gasifier stoves generate enough heat to boil a kettle or cook a meal using just twigs or flammable biomass material.
Designed primarily for outdoor use, they eliminate the need to carry gas canisters or other fuel required of more conventional camp cookers. They work by efficiently mixing hot flu gases with primary and secondary preheated air, resulting in very little smoke or ash.
The smallest, stainless steel Scout ($69.95) has a five inch diameter and is 17cm high when cooking, collapsing to 6.5cm for storage. It weighs just 340g and can heat cafeteria coffee makers or pots up to15kg.
Perfect for a caravan or motorhome, the larger Survivor Rocket Stove ($159.95) can handle bigger cooking and heating jobs, while the Hunter Natural Draft Chimney Gasifier Stove ($224.95) and Super Dragon ($249.95) are designed for serious chefs and can be used both indoors and outdoors.
Also available is the 6.5 litre Dragon Pot ($84.95) for use with the wood stoves.
