Twelve years after introducing its first Crossover hybrid camper, Melbourne’s Vista RV has significantly revamped its range of compact, hardcore off-road models, including adding two new options in regards to the internal fridge.
On display at last week’s Melbourne Leisurefest, the new Crossover XLI (indoor fridge) model features a reconfigured rear section, with the fixed 80 litre upright fridge relocated closer to the door, where the battery management system was located previously.
Although not fitted to the display models, Vista is planning to offer a larger and 90mm taller 110 compressor fridge, to future production versions.
The other new Crossover XLE (external fridge) model has an external slide-out option, big enough to fit an 80 litre Waeco fridge.
A Redarc RedVision management system and Manager 30 BMS are now stored in a locker inside the entry door, freeing up more storage space inside the camper
Vista has also added a Topaz-style drop-down rear shower pod and external ensuite, to Classic and XL Crossover models. The top-hinged hard lid with attached 160W flexible solar panel houses a drop-down tent, which provides privacy around the drop-down table, pump tap and mirror added to the rear body.
A hook in the hard lid holds the shower hose, which on the display model was hooked up to a portable gas water heater. However, buyers can option a more permanent Webasto diesel hot water system including a rear shower outlet for an additional $5950.
A Vista RV on display at the show was also fitted with the latest Sunshine AirPro inflatable awning, which slides on to the same external tracks as Vista’s existing (optional) sail awning and has a retail price of $695.
The new Crossover XLI and XLE models are priced from $74,000 -- $3800 more than the original, 300mm shorter Crossover Classic.
