Fans of stylish, lightweight, well-equipped, full composite European touring caravans, rejoice!
Two sleek new couple's caravans have joined the Apollo Group's Adria range down under, breaking cover at the 2022 Melbourne Leisurefest show at Sandown Racecourse this week.
Designed specifically for the Australian market, the new Slovenian-built Adria single axle, full height models include the 18ft 4in (external body length) Adora 492 DT Sport and 19ft 11in Adora 542 PH Sport.
Both feature a fresh exterior design with a few styling cues borrowed from Adria's Astella 'glamour van', including a silver 'sport' look front mould and body trim, and fresh auto-style rear wall design incorporating slim-line horizontal tail-lights. The Adora 492 also stands out with a large curved 'panoramic' front window.
Internally, the two berth Adora 492 features a large dinette/lounge up front that converts to an east-west queen bed, central kitchen and full width rear ensuite with separate shower and toilet, while the new 3-4 berth Adora 542 gets a fixed north-south queen bed, club lounge-dinette that converts to another bed for one or two children, and a kitchenette and combination shower/toilet located along the rear wall.
Standard features on both vans include a sink with mixer tap, three burner gas cooktop, oven/grille, microwave, 165 litre three-way fridge/freezer, gas-electric water and air heater, 100Ah AGM battery and 15amp charger, ducted air-conditioner, twin 4.5kg gas bottles and a gas bayonet, 130 fresh water capacity, 18.5in LED TV/DVD and antenna, and Bluetooth audio with two internal speakers.
Like other fully insulated Adria vans, the new Adora 492 and 542 models are comprised of structural fibreglass sandwich body panels with some aluminium checker plate side protection, along with a hot dipped galvanised chassis and independent rubber suspension (IRS) axle with shock absorbers, over-ride brakes, alloy wheels and an anti-sway ball coupling.
The Adora 492 has a Tare of 1530kg and ATM of 1950kg while the Adora 542 gets a 1610kg Tare and 2050kg ATM. Both were priced at $79,600 drive-away.
More of the 'new look' Adria caravans are expected to arrive in Australia in 2023.
