Caulfield Racecourse isn’t the only place at the moment to see new models for the first time in Melbourne.
With a record number of RVs taking up every square inch of available space at this year’s Victorian Caravan, Camping & Touring Supershow, boat builder turned caravan manufacturer, The Haines Group, has been forced to display its premium range of off-road caravans, for the first time in Victoria, at another venue.
The Queensland manufacturer of Seachange caravans has struck a deal with Adria and New Age dealer, Melbourne & European RVs, to display five of its dual axle vans at its Seaford, Victoria sales yard… about a half hour drive from the Caulfield Racecourse, where Seachange rivals Bushtracker and Trakmaster, but not Kedron, will be exhibiting from March 7-12.
The rugged yet stylish, mostly fibreglass-bodied Seachange models, including a 550QB, 595QB, 595FDQB, 640QB and 670QB, will be on display until March 17.
Seachange sales staff as well as the caravans’ designer, Peter Russell, formerly of Boroma Caravans, will be at the Melbourne bayside dealership this week-end to answer any questions.

As well as offering Melbourne buyers a chance to look over the latest Seachange models, the company says it’s also an opportunity for potential dealers to inspect the range.?? Currently, Seachange only has three dealers located in Queensland and Western Australia, but is seeking representation in Victoria and NSW.
The brainchild of John Haines Jnr, of renowned Queensland boat builder, The Haines Group, Seachange Caravans launched in mid-2011 with the 640 Elite, and now boasts 45 variations across four models, ranging from 5.5m to 6.7m long. ??
The vans come in three classes of ‘off-roadability’, from the tarmac-only aluminium-bodied Escape, to the fibreglass Elite with heavy-duty Cruisemaster, dual shock suspension.??
The five models on display range in price from $96,208 for a 550 Elite QB with aluminium frame and 220 litre water capacity, to a 670 Elite QB that comes packed with $30,000 of options and retails for $134,380.?
