RV shows ramp up for 2012

If your New Year’s resolution was to buy a new RV or camping accessory in 2012, your first stop should be one of the many caravan and camping shows taking place across the country this year.

First out of the gates is the Newcastle Caravan, Camping and Holiday Expo, on February 17-19, followed not long after by the SA Caravan and Camping and Outdoor Adventure Show from February 22-26.

But if you want to see many of the latest RVs and products available Down Under in the one place, then your first big chance is at the Victorian Caravan, Camping & Touring Supershow on March 8-13.

To be held at the Caulfield Racecourse in Melbourne, the Victorian Supershow is the biggest caravan and camping show in Australia, with up to 400 RVs and countless products and accessories on display during the six day event.

A further enticement to attend this year’s Victorian Supershow is a new ‘Innovation and Technology’ area on Level 2 of the indoor Grandstand, which will include some of the latest gadgets, gear and ideas in the RV industry.

Other attractions include celebrity presentations and seminars, children’s entertainment, tourism and park information, and the chance to win a $37,000 Jayco Expanda caravan.

For those in other states though, there’s the similarly expansive NSW Caravan, Camping, RV & Holiday Supershow from April 21-29 and Queensland Caravan Camping & Touring Holiday Show from June 6-12. Not to mention the numerous other smaller RV and camping related shows to be held throughout Australia in the coming year.
