Melbourne's Royal Flair continues to blow out the 50th birthday candles, with the return of its classic Micron rear-door compact caravan.
Shown at the 2025 Queensland Caravan and Camping Supershow and currently on display at Queensland's Kratzmann outlet, the new 16ft 6in Micron touring 'van is the new entry-level model in Royal Flair's Melbourne-built caravan range most of which has been updated for 2025.
Established in 1975, Royal Flair used to sell a number of small, budget-priced rear-door models, often with a pop-top roof, and designed to be towed by smaller tow vehicles.

While the new 16ft MY25 Micron follows a similar retro-theme, with a relatively lightweight 1815kg Tare and 2500kg ATM, and more affordable $75,990 drive-away price-tag, the fit-out and build is completely modern with full composite body construction including a composite honeycomb floor, and the latest appliances including a gas/electric hot water unit, roll-out awning, reverse camera, TV with Cowfish antenna, a BMPro lithium battery system with 200W solar, 115L compressor fridge, an air-conditioner and a microwave.
Thanks to the unusual location of the entry door, there's enough room inside for a queen island bed, a galley kitchen, cafe dinette and a separate shower and toilet up the back.
The compact single-axle caravan rides on Torflex independent suspension with a 50mm ball coupling and 16in alloy wheels, and also includes an external picnic table and quite a bit of internal storage.
