Roadhouse opens doors at Sydney
Melbourne's Network RV rolls out new caravan brand Roadhouse at the Sydney Supershow.While the last 12 months has seen a raft of RV brands go under, there have been some fresh arrivals too, such as the debut this week at the NSW Caravan, Camping and Holiday Supershow of Roadhouse Caravans.
Launched earlier this year, the new Melbourne-built Roadhouse brand is primarily focused on a seven-model luxury off-road range, from a $80,000 single-axle 18ft 6in model to a $106,000 22-foot bunk van.
Standing out with their shiny checker plate body protection, the off-road models come with a custom truss frame G&S off-road chassis, while the body is a composite fibreglass (with one-piece roof) over an aluminium frame.
Suspension is the AL-KO Enduro Outback 3.7-tonne capacity independent set-up, including coil-springs and double shocks, while tyres are 33-inch Mud-Terrains on 18-inch alloy rims.
The show vans also featured two recovery points and skid plates at the rear, with a stone shield and toolbox with slide-outs up front, and front and rear LED light bars.
The Roadhouse off-roaders also come with Award RV instantaneous hot water and a Genius battery system with two 170 watt solar panels and AGM batteries part of the package.
The hero model displayed at the Sydney Supershow was a 19ft 6in tandem, two-berth shower/toilet off-road model with optional, motorcycle carrier for $99,495 tow away.
The rear-mounted carrier, similar to the one fitted to a Network RV-built NextGen caravan at the 2018 Melbourne Leisurefest, is a $2500 option across the range.
Other features on the 19ft 6in display unit included disc brakes all around, two 96-litre fresh water tanks, (and one 80-litre grey water tank), washing machine, reversing camera, Dometic 190-litre fridge/freezer, Swift Holiday oven/cooktop and Fusion CD/DVD player.
The Roadhouse 19ft 6in van had a plate Tare weight of 2812kg and a 688kg payload. Towball download at Tare was indicated at 201kg.
Touring models are also available on the Roadhouse menu, starting with the $68,000 single-axle 18ft 6in model.
Roadhouse is one of four brands belonging to Campbellfield, Victoria-based caravan manufacturer Network RV. Other brands in the Network RV stable include NextGen and Victory Caravans and as of last month the company took ownership of the Elite brand name.
