Rhimomax releases first 'grey nomad' caravan

New LTR 19 brings first island bed/full ensuite layout to Queensland manufacturer's off-road range

Queensland's Rhinomax Campers has launched its first 'grey nomad' caravan; a 19ft hardtop model directly targeted at over-55s seeking a bit more space and interior comfort while touring around the country.

Priced at $189,990 (or $175,990 if you get in early), the new LTR 19 is the premium Sunshine Coast builder's first foray into the bigger luxury 'van segment, after focussing on hardcore pop-tops and narrow-width hybrid caravans in recent years.

"The LTR 19 is the first Rhinomax to bring a walk-around island bed, a fully separate shower and toilet, a large internal kitchen and an L-shaped lounge into the same camper," explained Rhinomax co-owner Steve Punton.

"It does that at 2.35m wide, which is 150mm narrower than a full-width van. You get the room people want out of a caravan without giving up the footprint that gets a Rhinomax down the tracks you actually want to travel."

More luxury inside

Described by Rhinomax as the "ultimate luxury touring caravan," the 8.07m long (overall) LTR 19 delivers a Tare weight of around 2650kg, and ATM of 3500kg, for a decent payload of 850kg.

It gets all the usual Rhinomax top-notch-quality features like a hot dipped galvanised chassis, 'dust proof' fibreglass composite body, Cruisemaster XT Level 3 airbag suspension and DO-35 coupling, ARK jockey wheel, 17in alloys and all terrain rubber, plus a Victron 440Ah lithium battery power system with 3000VA inverter charger and 1000W rooftop solar, RM Digital command centre, 440L fresh/70L grey water capacity, diesel hydronic hot water service, and an external water pick/filtration system.

The island queen bed gets an innerspring mattress, the L-shape cafe-lounge area some microfibre leather seating, and the kitchen boasts Rhino-Stone benchtops, with a Smart TV, Fusion stereo, Sirocco fan, composting toilet, dual induction cooktop, microwave oven and 175L fridge/freezer, also included.

Thanks to its large internal kitchen and more interior storage and living space, the LTR 19 is also the first Rhimomax in the manufacturer's 15 year history to miss out on an external kitchen as standard.

The road ahead

Rhinomax is offering the $175,990 launch price on orders placed until September 4, with a fully refundable $2000 deposit locking in the price.

After that the LTR 19 price will rise to $189,990, making it the second most expensive model in the range behind the $230K Lost Trak Vantage Edition introduced in 2025.

The LTR 19 is currently on display at the Kunda Park factory and showroom on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast but is set to make an appearance soon at its Off Grid Outfitters Sydney showroom.
