David Duncan, who was the CEO of peak industry body RVM Australia for the past two and a half years and oversaw the implementation of the tougher RVMAP compliance program, has taken over the CEO role at the Caravan & Camping Industries Association of SA (CCIA SA).
Duncan replaces Stuart Livingstone, who was the CEO for 14 years and is now the boss at the South Australia-based Top Tourist Parks chain, after Bill Pycroft retired recently after many years in the top job.
The move comes after RVM Australia was officially merged this month with the Caravan, RV & Accommodation Industry of Australia (CRVA) to form the new Caravan Industry Association of Australia.
Stuart Lamont, who had been CRVA CEO since 2007, was recently appointed CEO of the new peak body, which will provide a ‘united voice’ for all aspects of the Australian RV industry including marketing, compliance and training.
CCIA SA President Peter White said Duncan had an impressive track record in the caravan industry.
“At RVM Australia he created the RV Manufacturing Accreditation Program (RVMAP), and gave the association a much sharper and more credible advocacy role,” he said.
“This is a move back home for David, who has commuted between Melbourne and Adelaide for the past few years, and we are glad to have him working for South Australia’s industry.”
