French car brand Renault is set to unveil a "hippie-chic van" that delivers a five-star hotel rooftop experience, at this year's Caravan Salon in Dusseldorf, Germany from August 27 - September 5.
Renault says the two-tone Hippie Caviar Hotel electric show campervan is based on the forthcoming 2022 battery-powered Trafic commercial van and is "inspired by the '60s movement, and its style is a throwback to the iconic Renault Estafette campervan."
Also inspired by '5 star hotel rooms' and Mother Nature, the interior is a mix of glittery water green and anodised silver grey colours, with a leather-enhanced wicker-effect dashboard and other natural cabin materials including exotic wood, natural fibres (linen and wool) and a plant-based foam.
Offering a mix of indoor and outdoor living, there's a corner armchair and a bench seat that converts to a 145 x 195cm double bed that can also be positioned outside; a rear tailgate with privacy drapes, and a rooftop terrace, complete with a coffee table and two removable backrests, that's accessed from an extractable ladder.
As far as other camping amenities go, Renault is envisaging a hotel concierge-style scenario that includes delivery of a logistics container with shower, toilet and electric recharging points, at the chosen camping location, along with other delivery services ordered online including drone deliveries to the rooftop deck.
The futuristic Renault Hippie Caviar Hotel concept camper will be displayed alongside a classic 1977 Estafette campervan at the big German caravan show.
