South Australia's Redarc Electronics has taken a big step in its international growth plans, with the acquisition of power conversion products specialist Samlex America.
Founded in 1991, Samlex America is a global manufacturer and supplier of power conversion products for a range of industries, with sales in more than 90 countries.

Redarc said the acquisition expands Redarc's North American presence and adds Samlex's established portfolio of power inverters, inverter/chargers, battery chargers, DC-DC converters and power supplies to the Redarc portfolio.
"This acquisition is an important step in Redarc's international growth," Redarc CEO Anthony Kittel said.
"Samlex brings a strong portfolio of power conversion products, established customer relationships and a team with deep knowledge of its markets."

The financial terms and purchase price of Redarc's acquisition of Samlex America were not disclosed in the media release.
However, Samlex said it will be 'business as usual' for its North American operations, with the two companies planning to "explore opportunities for greater collaboration over time".
Founded in South Australia in 1979, Redarc designs and makes a range of electronics and power equipment for commercial, caravan and outdoor adventure pursuits, with sales in Australia and overseas.
Its products are commonly installed in locally-built, upmarket campers and caravans, including Patriot, Lotus and Zone RV models.
