Redarc is the latest RV-related brand to promote the benefits of local manufacturing and adopt the Australian Made logo.
The 41-year old South Australian manufacturer and supplier of battery power-related electronic products recently joined an increasing number of local RV industry manufacturers including New Age, Jayco, Lotus, Patriot, TrayOn, Ampfibian and the Airbag Man, in being certified to use the well-known Australian Made logo.
A family-owned business based in Lonsdale, South Australia, Redarc designs, develops and produces a range of RV-related electronic products for both local and export markets, including electronic voltage converters, battery chargers, and brake controllers.
“When a product is known to be made in Australia, there is an immediate connection to higher quality standards,” Redarc Managing Director, Anthony Kittel explained about the decision to use the logo.
“With a growing export portfolio, the time was right to bring more attention to our Australian-made products, because we believe that ‘Australian Made’ is a point of competitive advantage,” he said,
“We know that fellow Australians also feel strongly about supporting local industry, and using the Australian Made logo is the easiest way for customers to identify these products."
The Australian Made logo will be displayed on many Redarc products including the popular Tow-Pro brake controllers and Redvision smart management system.
The Australian Made campaign has led the push to ‘buy local’ over the past three decades, and been the go-to marketing initiative for brands wishing to spruik their homegrown credentials, including some of Australian best-known corporate names like Qantas, Harvey Norman and Coles.
According to the Australia Made website, a product that has “undergone its last substantial transformation in Australia” is entitled to use the Australian Made logo.
Australian Made licensed companies pay an annual fee for the right to use the logo, which is on a sliding scale depending on revenue generated from applicable products.
