An almost endless line of RV travelers along the road is almost every car driver’s worst nightmare… But that won’t be stopping a bunch of Aussie RV owners from attempting next month to break the world record for the longest parade of camping vehicles.
The record attempt is set to take place in the small Queensland Outback town of Barcaldine around May 25-26, and the organisers are hoping to attract as many as 1000 owners of motorhomes and campervans, as well as caravans from all around Australia to take part.
Barcaldine was also the scene back in 2007 for a similar world record attempt for the longest line of motorhomes, which fell short by 43 vehicles of the still current record of 672 camping vehicles, set in Italy four years earlier.

This year’s record attempt organized by the Australian Motorhoming Lions Club and Barcaldine Regional Council, will take place on the very long and straight Aramac-Barcaldine Road and the line will have to be moving in order to break the existing Guinness World Record.
All proceeds from the event will go to local charities, and there will also be an attempt at the same time to break the Guinness World Record for the ‘Longest Connected Image Made of LED Rope Light’.
All participants must register online to take part. For further details visit the Longest Line website.
