Police officers are set to enjoy the RV lifestyle, with three new SUV camper trailers now part of their vehicle fleet, to coincide with the opening of a new police station in a small town in central Queensland.
Officially opened last month, the new $4.95 million Biloela Police Station currently accommodates 18 officers servicing the local Biloela as well as wider region. The station is also a certified training centre for first year constables.
The three new police trailers -- all family-style campers from the Sahara SUV range -- will be used by police across Queensland on deployment to events and operations in isolated areas across the state.

Commissioner Katarina Carroll said the new station and the camper trailers would ensure that police provided flexible responses across a range of situations.
“The new police station at Biloela provides a modern facility to support frontline policing at the local level and allows sufficient space for future growth,” she said.
“At the same time, the camper trailer initiative means police can deploy to a range of policing activities, be they planned operations or unplanned natural disasters, and be accommodated in comfort and safety when traditional accommodation is not available.
“I am sure this newly built station and the camper trailers will enable officers to continue the high standard and dedicated policing the local Biloela and broader Central Region communities have seen so far.”
