A $10 million redevelopment of the Big4 Caloundra Waterfront Holiday Park, situated along Caloundra’s famed Pumicestone Passage, includes new cabins, site accommodation and park activities as part of a complete overhaul.
The newly heritage listed holiday park now boasts accommodation options which includes 28 new cabins, ranging from cosy one bedroom villas to three bedroom waterfront cabins surrounded by lush gardens.
The park’s facilities have also been upgraded, with a resort style pool and waterslide, camp kitchen, amenities block, jumping pillow and a kids’ playground among the new additions.
Park manager, Angus Booker, says the 12 month redevelopment has already led to increased bookings, and has doubled the number of park staff in the last 12 months.
“The upgrade has had a huge effect on business with a marked increase in bookings requiring more staff,” he said. “The growth is not only great for us, but has also had a flow on effect to other local businesses that reap the rewards of more tourists in the area.”
The picturesque Caloundra Waterfront Holiday Park was founded in 1912 and is located just minutes away from the stunning Golden, Bulcock and Kings Beaches. It’s also close to a range of popular attractions including the Caloundra Golf Club, Coastal Walk and stunning whale watching tours.
