It’s not everyone’s idea of camping fun, digging a hole and squatting amongst Mother Nature to undertake the most natural but mildly unpleasant of activities.
For many years the Porta Potti has provided a neat solution in the form of a portable dunny that’s both hygienic and easy to use while travelling.
Now Thetford, the inventor of the world’s first camping toilet has updated the range, with two Porta Potti models boasting improved comfort and more functional design.
The ‘classic’ Porta Potti Qube, features a curvy new design and new features such as an integrated lid clip, improved blade handle system and more convenient carry handle for the waste-holding tank.
Meanwhile, the range-topping Porti Potti Excellence (pictured), has been redesigned including a bigger bowl size, making it easier for older people in particular to do their business.
Described as the ‘jewel’ amongst portable toilets, the Excellence features an integrated control panel with pump, waterfill unit and water-level indicator, toilet roll holder, and a level indicator for both wasteholding and flush-water tanks.
Each Porta Potti comes with a three-year warranty and includes samples of toilet additives.
Pricing starts at around $149 for the Porta Potti Qube, and around $249 for the Excellence.
