Man's best friend is an increasingly common companion for RV travellers, with some caravanners going to great lengths to accommodate their four-legged family members.
The American builder of premium-priced, polished aluminium Bowlus Road Chief travel trailers is the latest RV manufacturer to cater to canines, equipping its new top-spec Terra Firma model with a dedicated 'doggie zone' that allows Fido to eat and sleep with the rest of the crew in climate controlled comfort.

As well as sleeping four people, the new 26ft, 1451kg Tare, Bowlus Road Chief Terra Firma glamour-van has a built-in, drop-down pet bed and doggy food and water bowls incorporated into a slide-out drawer under the dinette.
Also part of Bowlus' 'Pet Flex' package is remote temperature monitoring so Rufus won't wilt on hot summer nights.
Among the Terra Firma's other upmarket features are an on-board carbon-filter water purification system, HEPA air filter and built-in UVC lighting to reduce bacteria and other water and airborne nasties.

There's also a smartphone app controlled digital management system, GPS tracking security, Bluetooth electric brake controller, heated floors, Italian appliances and an 8kWh lithium battery system for off-grid excursions.
The Bowlus Terra Firma features the same super-streamlined, mirror-like exterior styling as other Bowlus travel trailers, along with five star hotel style interior layout including a 'Zen Master' bedroom with new timber curved headboards to match the walls and ceiling and fancy linen bed sheets.
The Terra Firma is Bowlus' most expensive model to date, retailing for a staggering US$265,000 (around 350,000 Aussie dollars).
