The Euro NR Freedom has a slightly larger 12ft body than the 9ft 5in Glider and 10ft 4in Sunseeker models, allowing for a larger internal space (3.4m long, 2.05m wide and 1.9m high). Overall, it’s 5.06m long by 2.3m wide by 2.55m high. The NR Freedom is also significantly heavier, although still much lighter than most full-height Aussie caravans, with a Tare weight of 870kg and ATM of 1100kg. This will be increased to 1300kg with the introduction of heavier-duty suspension later this year.
The internal layout includes a six-person dinette up front, with a table that collapses to create either a 2.05 x 1.55m double bed, or two 2.5m x 0.55m single beds, with foam mattresses.
Up front is a kitchenette with two-burner gas cooker, stainless steel sink, and 57 litre three-way fridge. A separate bathroom features a fixed sink with bench space and Thetford cassette toilet but no shower.
Other equipment includes a 35 litre water tank with electric pump, five litre hot water system and 80Ah battery system.
Like other Euro models the NR Freedom has a galvanised chassis and GRP fibreglass body, along with Al-Ko torsion beam suspension with shock absorbers, over-ride mechanical brakes, and double glazed windows with curtains and blinds.
A lockable front boot has enough room for two 8.5kg gas bottles and the spare wheel, and there’s also a decent amount of interior storage including 10 overhead lockers, a wardrobe and two cupboards.
The two-berth van is priced from $33,900, with optional extras including central heating and an awning.
