As you would expect at a 4WD show, the focus was offroad.
Jayco dealer Caravan Land had several top-of-the-range Sterling caravans on display, which can now be optioned with 16in wheels and increased ground clearance. And being shown for the first time in Perth was the Jayco Basestation. This van has a storage space at the rear with a fold-down door, which becomes a ramp, to easily transport trail bikes or surf boards. There is also an outback version for use on rough terrain.
Coromal Caravans was showing offroad versions of its popular pop top range. The Coromal Pioneer comes with a strengthened chassis, water-tank protection, and other features for outback travel.
There was a very comprehensive line-up of A'vans at the George Day Caravans display, from the tiny Sportliner to the luxurious Euro Star, including many suitable for travel on dirt roads. The much-awaited Trailstar caravans will now not be released until early 2008, so George Day still had some Trailcraft vans on display.
Apart from caravans, there were many other outdoor and lifestyle products being exhibited at the three-day show. A 4WD test track, demonstrations of
4WD recovery techniques, and water-ski demonstrations took advantage of the riverside location and kept visitors well entertained.
