Suspension specialist Pedders has introduced a free, online version of its “world first” Weight Matrix tow load and assessment service that was rolled out to participating outlets in early-2017.
Pedders says the new Weight Matrix survey aimed at 4WD enthusiasts, caravanners, boaties and horse owners only takes a few minutes to complete and “is a revolutionary and simple way to determine the weight of your vehicle from accessories, passengers, loads and towing”.
After inputting data about the owner's vehicle, including make and model and additional loads like passengers and accessories fitted such as bull bars, roof racks, winches and tow bars, along with the towball mass of the trailer, the software calculates the weight of the vehicle against original manufacturer specifications.
The user then receives a report via email that covers vehicle load, remaining payload capacity, estimated additional braking distance and the weight balance shift (frontward and rearward) for that particular vehicle.
As the online assessment requires some estimations and therefore can only be treated as a guide, Pedders recommends a more accurate and comprehensive assessment is conducted via the in-store, $75 Tow and Load Assessment for those concerned about the effects of caravan and tow vehicle weights on vehicle handling and safety.
Pedders Suspension Group Managing Director Scott Pedder said the 67-year-old company's Tow and Load Assessment service had already assisted thousands of Australian motorists with their towing and load carrying needs since it was introduced last year.
“The world first service offers consumers the opportunity to weigh their tow and load carrying vehicle at the participating outlet of their choice and really ‘Know their Weight’,” he said
“The placement of the Weight Matrix on www.pedders.com.au is designed to drive consumers to our participating outlets for a more exact weight and comprehensive service, advice and solutions via the Pedders Tow and Load Assessment.”
