First there were dog 'seatbelts' in tow vehicles, then doggie cafes at caravan parks and pooch-friendly Outback music festivals... and more recently we've even seen caravans with canine living areas!
But now you can enjoy a 'van holiday that specifically caters to both you and your furry travel companion, with special dog-friendly RVs available to hire for a limited time.
Soon to be publicly listed RV rental platform Camplify has teamed up with dog accessories retailer Stylish Hound to offer a bunch of doggie accessories supplied with two rental vehicles: a 1974 Millard caravan located in NSW and a 2011 Volkswagen Crafter-based campervan based in Victoria.

As part of the promotion which runs until the end of July 2021, both rental vehicles come with 'chewing' toys including a slow feeder and suction lick mat, along with safety items like a dog swim jacket and selection of 'No-Pull Harnesses' with all-important poo bags and puppy water bottles.
Also catering to 'man's best friend' are some take-home matching PJs for the hirer and their happy hound, along with a fashionable dog blanket to rug up with while watching the 12V TV at night.
The fully equipped, four-berth campervan 'Van Morrison' is available from $160 a night, while 'Millie' the refurbished three-berth vintage van has a daily hire rate starting at $80.
It's estimated as many as half of Australian households own dogs and according to Camplify, 'pet-friendly' booking enquiries have increased by 190 per cent over the past 12 months during the COVID pandemic.
