Patriot X1 heads upmarket
Patriot caters to off-road glamping and family market with new X1 Grand Tourer modelNot one for doing things by halves, fast-growing Queensland off-road specialist Patriot Campers has released a new, big budget 16 minute video of its latest X1 Grand Tourer model.
A far more upmarket and family-friendly version of the original lightweight, bareboned X1 off-road camper introduced in 2013, the new ‘GT’ model comes with a number of standard features previously available as options, including adjustable air-bag suspension, gas hot water and swing-out BBQ holder.
The X1’s canvas tent sections and interior areas have been redesigned to make them more user-friendly, including adding a new, patented, fold-out staircase with handrails and side steps to access the fold-out king size bed.
Patriot says the awning, main tent and kids’ room, can now be set up in less than 10 minutes.
Visually, there are new X-style laser cut decals and bodywork and additional exterior colours, as well as the option to match the colours of popular tow vehicles.
Tweaks to the kitchen area include wind breaks for the twin burner gas stove and grille and redesigned pantry drawers and electronic control board.
Pricing hasn't been announced yet but it's expected to be higher than the current top-spec X1 XE, which starts at $40,990. Options available include a diesel air and water heater, lithium battery upgrade, and 200mm drawbar extension.
“We’ve built a compact camper that accommodates the entire family, one that has all the comforts of home without losing touch of the great outdoors,” Patriot Campers’ boss Justin Montesalvo said.
With a new catchprase of ‘Unstoppable”, Patriot is also working hard to crack the lucrative US market, following up a recent showing at the SEMA show in Las Vegas with a scheduled attendance at the Moab Jeep Safari in Utah this April.
