Queensland’s Patriot Campers has revised and expanded its rugged toy hauler range, designed to take enthusiasts with their extreme off-road toys closer to the action than conventional caravan-based toy haulers while borrowing many of the innovative features from their award-winning camper trailers.
Priced from $41,900, the three latest Patriot toy hauler variants for 2021 allow you to tow almost any configuration of ATV, mountain bike or dirt bike, tinny or kayak, while still making room for the camping essentials.
Differing mainly in their carrying deck dimensions and their on-site camping equipment, the Patriot TH610 features a 2.4 metre wide and 3.1 metre platform, while the TH730 has a 2.3 metre wide by 4.15 metre long platform, making it suitable for carrying larger toys side by side, multiple toys, or even a full-size Trophy Truck.
The third model in the 2021 Patriot Toy Hauler range is the bare-boned TT730, which abandons the full base camp station at the trailer’s front in favour of a smaller storage compartment, making it ideal for carrying racing gear, tie down straps, recovery equipment, a portable fridge, etc.
All three are made from interlocked, galvanised steel at Patriot’s Gold Coast HQ, with the platforms featuring Anchor-Flex points embedded into the deck, with side-to-side adjustability, a 360-degree swivelling tie-down and are load-rated to suit any type of off-road toy.
As well as carrying vehicles to remote areas, the toy hauler models serve as live-in base camps, with the front camper trailer modules of the TH610 and TH730 employing various modules from Patriot’s popular X1 and X3 campers, packing accommodation, storage, power and utilities into the compact unit.
The L-Shaped Kitchen in the module includes a kitchen slide, which rolls out to reveal your choice of portable fridge, plus a kitchen sink and cutlery compartments.
When used with the gas hot water system, the water pump delivers temperature-controlled water straight to the sink, while the system also comes with a showerhead attachment whose feed is long enough to set up metres away from camp, avoiding water run-off into the campsite.
At the front of the Base Camp Module, the front box is home to a utility shelf and swing-away BBQ platform specially designed to fit a Weber Baby Q. Space for jerry cans is provided on each side of the box.
Powering the Base Camp module is 300AH of battery power, routed through the standard Redarc Battery Management System that delivers power to all 12-volt outlets and a 350W inverter. Charging can be achieved through a 240-volt input vehicle through the trailer’s Anderson plug, or through solar inputs, with a Redarc Manager 30 to help keep an eye on things.
The custom-built XT self-levelling, dual shock absorber airbag suspension system with double convoluted airbags under the TH610 and TH730 models mean the deck can easily be dropped to a lower height for ease of loading and unloading. The system also automatically adjusts ride height and airbag pressure to suit the weight it is carrying.
There's also an inbuilt air compressor outlet, along with mud-terrain tyres mounted on PCOR alloy wheels.
The 1580kg Tare weight TH610 is priced from $68,990; the 2000kg Tare weight TH730 costs from $70,990; while the TT730 without the base station front module starts at $41,990.
