Premium RV manufacturer Paradise Motor Homes has added a new Fiat Ducato-based, entry-level model to its range of coach-built cab-chassis motorhomes.
Finished just days before the Victorian Caravan, Camping & Touring Supershow where it was displayed for the first time, the new Paradise Free Time is based on the popular 3.0-litre Ducato cab and Al-Ko chassis and has a GVM of 4500kg, meaning it can be driven on a standard car licence.
It also boasts an impressive one tonne payload or carrying capacity, which Paradise Motorhomes’ general manager, Ben MacLean, said is well above many of its rivals.
Inside, the airy layout will be familiar to existing Paradise owners, incorporating many of the Queensland manufacturer’s trademark design features including spacious rear bathroom, walk-around east-west queen bed slide-out, large wardrobe and storage area, along with a compact kitchen and lounge/dinette area towards the front.
The leather-covered L-shape lounge converts to another bed to add to the motorhome's practicality.
Typically, Paradise has loaded the Free Time with a long list of standard features, including a roof-top air-conditioner, inside and outside 22in DVD/TV units, 200aH AGM battery system hooked up to 150W solar panels, 190 litre three-way fridge/freezer, 2.5kg top load washing machine, and 100 litre fresh/100 litre grey water tanks.
The Fiat cab also comes well equipped with leather-covered swivel seats, air-conditioning, cruise control and a reversing camera with seven inch colour display.
Backed by a two year/100,000km warranty, the Free Time is built to a similar high standards as other Paradise motorhomes, incorporating composite body panels as well as the patented interlocking body and cabinet construction recently introduced on the company’s first caravan.
The Free Time also utilises the Castaway caravan’s thicker ‘frameless’ 750mm (3.0inch) composite floor, which helps reduce road noise when driving and provides improved insulation.
The Free Time is competitively priced at $166,900 (excluding on-road costs), with an additional house battery or solar panel, satellite TV and external drop-down table the only options available.
