Paradise Liberation Deluxe 2025 Review

Super slide-out turns 28ft luxury motorhome into a five-star apartment on wheels

If you're cashed up, appreciate the finer things in life, and dream about doing a big 'lap of luxury', then Queensland's Paradise Motor Homes is probably on your radar.

Since the demise of Swagman, Paradise has become one of few options for Aussie buyers after a top-shelf tarmac tourer capable of delivering five-star apartment-style living at the campsite.

paradisliberation 43

While Paradise has had its share of ups and downs over its 22-year history, one thing that hasn't changed is the brand's commitment to top-notch build quality and a superior fit-out; reflected in the painstaking production process for every one of the 40 or so motorhomes and campervans that currently roll out of the Gold Coast factory each year...

paradisliberation 6

For this review we're taking a close look at the second most expensive model in the Paradise Motor Homes range: a 28ft Liberation Deluxe based on the popular Iveco Daily seven-tonne platform, and complete with an impressive 6.0m slide-out.

How much is the Paradise Liberation Deluxe?

The Paradise Liberation Deluxe review vehicle, which has been a regular on the show circuit this year, is priced at $509,000 (drive-away Queensland), which includes a grand total of 16 (or around $30,000 worth) optional extras.

paradisliberation 3

Some of these add-ons are external features like the extra solar panel and water tank, panoramic camera, nudge bar, UHF radio and LED driving lights, while others are fitted inside, like the optional premium pillow-topper mattress, induction cooktop, under-seat drawer fridge and a second roof-top air-conditioner.

paradisliberation 4

Pricing starts at $464,000 for the Paradise Liberation Deluxe before any on-road costs or options are added. If you want to save some money there's the $10,000 cheaper Liberation Platinum, which is largely the same except for a shorter 5.0m wide slide-out resulting in a fixed rear ensuite with less floorspace.

paradisliberation 55

Close to half a million dollars seems a lot for a 28ft luxury motorhome when you can pay close to half that for a similar size motorhome from some rival brands. That is, until you learn about the time, effort and materials that go into each Paradise build, including in-house built components like the curved lower fibreglass locker doors, timber-edge interior cabinetry, alloy frame with roll-over protection and auto-style gloss paint-job.

paradisliberation 49

There's also the engineering required for the driver's side 6.0m-slide out; the largest available on any Australian-built motorhome according to Paradise. It takes about 30 seconds to fully emerge at the press of a switch; and unlike many motorised slide-outs is eerily quiet in the process.

It all adds up to an OEM factory-like finish you don't often get to this degree in the local motorhome production industry; all backed by a three year manufacturer's warranty and five year structural warranty.

paradisliberation 28

What external features are on the Paradise Liberation Deluxe?

While the review vehicle is is finished in a more conservative two-tone white and grey paint with matching decals, Paradise's in-house paint shop can deliver virtually any colour scheme you want, to really make it your own.

paradisliberation 10

Starting on the passenger-door side, standard external features include the strut-assisted Dometic security door, 18ft electric awning with LED strip light, yellow/white camp lights and outdoor speakers. There's also an 'entertainment' locker with marine-style slide-out stainless steel BBQ (a Weber Baby Q is an option), and a swing-out 24in Smart TV, along with two 240V outlets and twin drop-down picnic tables.

Another lower locker bin holds the 10Kwh lithium battery system with battery charger and 3600W inverter -- like many RVs from the JB Group all Paradise motorhomes now come standard with the 'plug and play' EcoFlow off-grid power products.

paradisliberation 7

Over on the driver's, or slide-out side, there are neatly-labelled supply and discharge outlets for all the water storage. The review vehicle had an additional 45L tank to bring total freshwater capacity to 310 litres, plus a 95L grey water tank and a 100L black water tank for the macerator toilet.

Also on this side is a locker for the hydraulic pump that runs the four automatic self-levelling jacks, an external hot/cold shower and an outlet for the instant hot water system.

paradisliberation 13

There's not much space left on the roof, after the fitment of six 190W solar panels (five panels are standard), two rooftop air conditioners (one is standard), and a TV antenna, while a fold-down ladder at the rear provides access to the roof at any time.

Also up back is the wall mounted spare tyre and 3500kg-rated tow bar, with the option to add an Anderson plug socket. The motorhome weighs 5700kg unloaded (Tare), with a fully loaded weight (GVM) of 7200kg and combined maximum weight of 10,500kg when towing.

paradisliberation 47

External storage is plentiful and includes lower storage bins on both sides (some long enough to hold a golf bag or fishing rods), although some are difficult to access on the passenger side with the slide-out fully extended. There are also two locker doors on the slide-out itself that provide access to large storage cavities under both the lounge and bed areas.

There's another driver's side locker for the Dometic Tec29 2.6kVa on-board generator that's fed by a separate 20L petrol tank with filler conveniently located near the driver's door.

paradisliberation 42

What is the Paradise Liberation Deluxe like to drive?

While we didn't get to drive it (you need a light rigid licence to do that), we can tell you the Iveco Daily-based motorhome is a smooth operator, at least on sealed roads and when sitting on one of the comfy passenger seats (there are two extra seatbelts on the dinette seats to allow up to three passengers in total, not including the driver).

paradisliberation 11

The 157kW/470Nm turbo-diesel engine with eight-speed auto gets the motorhome moving along in traffic with little fuss or noise, while the rear airbag suspension and locking diff add to the all-round driveability of this circa six tonne rig.

Those up front also get a heated suspension seat for added comfort, and the optional 360 degree camera (viewed through a split screen central display) helps in busy traffic as well as when parking in tight spots.

paradisliberation 44

The rear-drive Iveco Daily 72-210 base vehicle also comes loaded up from the factory with quite a few driving aids including active cruise control and tyre pressure monitoring, as well as handy technology like smart phone mirroring and satellite navigation, accessed through the dash-mounted central touchscreen.

Another neat trick is some of the powered camping aids like the electric step and auto-levelling hydraulic legs will automatically retract when the hand brake is released, in case you forget to manually do it before driving off.

paradisliberation 17

What is the Paradise Liberation Deluxe like inside?

Step inside the 28ft Liberation Deluxe and what really stands out is the amount of internal floorspace for what is a well-equipped couple's layout. The one-piece slide-out panel extends out 600mm to provide a 3.0m wide living space, all the way from just behind the front seats to the ensuite along the back wall.

paradisliberation 33

It makes it an easy walk-through from the flat-floor driver's cab (both front seats swivel around), past the offside club lounge/dinette and onside kitchen and between the east-west queen bed and storage wall opposite, before entering the rear bathroom.

The apartment-like feel is enhanced by the homely fittings, which include a roomy six-seat leather lounge with adjustable table that (using the supplied insert) quickly converts to another bed for a teenager, or perhaps a couple of grand-children.

paradisliberation 36

It's beautifully appointed too, from the custom-stitched leather upholstery, painted timber-edged benchtops, and soft-closing drawers with auto electro-magnetic locks, to the locally made Oliveri kitchen sink with water filter, and inviting 1530mm x 2000mm island bed with optional premium topper mattress.

paradisliberation 56

There's plenty of storage space inside too, including floor-to-ceiling cupboards, robes and drawers running almost half the length of the motorhome along the passenger side, as well as more overhead lockers, drawers and underbed space along the driver's side.

There's only a few small storage spots above the driver's cab, in order to maximise headroom when moving around up front. You'll also find a fold-up outside picnic table and a safe for your valuables, stored under the bed.

paradisliberation 39

The full width rear ensuite gets a solid sliding door, along with a powder room-style vanity with mirrored cabinet, bowl sink, mixer tap and a large front-load washing machine. There's an opening window near the electric-flushing marine toilet, which sits outside the spacious (750mm x 900m) corner shower cubicle with its soap and shampoo dispensers and accordion-style towel rack.

paradisliberation 27

While we didn't test it out, the big dual-system, on-board off-grid power set-up should be able to run all the appliances for various lengths of time, including the twin roof-top air-conditioners and induction cooktop, convection oven/microwave, coffee pod machine, 216L compressor fridge/freezer and the optional 7.5kg washing machine and 4.5kg dryer 'combo' unit.

paradisliberation 20

The motorhome also comes standard with an RV Secure electronic security system, not to mention three TVs -- the outside unit and two inside, including a 24in screen stored inside an overhead kitchen cupboard for watching from the lounge, and a larger 32in fixed TV that faces the bed.

Entertainment is provided via an automatic satellite TV dish and VAST TV unit, or you can opt for an extra-cost Starlink set-up.

paradisliberation 54

There's plenty of lighting (including blue mood and dimmable options) and electrical sockets (240V, USB-A and USB-C) throughout the layout, while the EcoFlow touchscreen and distribution panel, Fusion stereo and various switches are conveniently located in a cupboard above the entry door.

Add in the diesel space heater and it all adds up to a real 'home-away-from-home' fit-out.

paradisliberation 30

Should I buy a Paradise Liberation Deluxe?

Even in standard trim, the Paradise Liberation Deluxe would be an outstanding choice for a long, leisurely lap of Oz. While it won't handle the rough stuff like Paradise's more off-road ready Oasis, its Tardis-like interior and driver comforts make it an excellent all-round option for those seeking a big, refined motorhome that remains parkable outside of a truck stop.

If you're after one of the best-built, most lavishly equipped and internally spacious, on-road motorhomes on the market for its size, and have the budget to match, what are you waiting for?
