Old and new vans up for grabs

One of Australia’s newest caravans, and one of its oldest, will be raffled at this year’s Queensland caravan show
Visitors to this year’s Queensland Caravan & Camping Show will have the chance to win two very different but equally stylish caravans.
The 1958 Carapark Caravan that was refurbished by Queensland’s Jackaroo Caravans, in conjunction with  The Block TV celebrities Trixie and Johnno, is the major prize in a charity raffle promoted at this year's show.
The white and yellow, single-axle aluminium beauty blends plenty of retro touches with the latest modern appliances and fittings, and is valued at up to $30,000.
The unfinished van made an appearance at last year’s Queensland show, and was going to be auctioned with all proceeds going to the Assist-a-Sista charity. Instead, raffle tickets will now be available at this year’s show for $5 each, with all proceeds to the Lady Musgrave Trust.
Meanwhile, the major prize in the annual ‘Passport’ raffle at this year’s show is a Bailey Rangefinder Nebula caravan valued at $69,990.
Just launched in Australia by the British Bailey company, prototypes of the Oz-built Bailey Rangefinder model completed a gruelling trans-Australia crossing in late-2015, and have since been updated with the latest glossy furniture.
To be in the chance to win the Bailey van, show visitors must ‘clip’ a passport at various locations around the show, before placing their entry into the barrel.
Around 60,000 visitors are expected at this year’s Queensland caravan show, which will take place at  the Brisbane Showgrounds from June 8-13.
Show organiser Caravanning Queensland says there will be more than 250 exhibitors displaying and promoting the latest caravans, motorhomes, campervans, tent trailers, slide-ons, accessories and travel destinations.
Dozens of brand new models are expected to be launched at the show, including the much-anticipated new Soul Caravan. Other attractions include free seminars covering towing, solar power and satellite communication, cooking demonstrations from the Cast Iron Boys, various food trucks and a kids zone.
With limited parking, getting to the show has been made easier with free train travel available to and from the show with all tickets purchased online.
Ticket prices are  $20, with $15 concession and accompanied school age children free.
