A smorgasbord of brand new models and features aimed at off-road adventurers will be on display at the 2015 Queensland Caravan, Camping & Touring Supershow, which runs June 3-9 at the Brisbane Showgrounds.
After causing a stir with its first fibreglass-bodied caravans at last year’s show, off-road caravan specialist Bushtracker will take the wraps of its latest ‘gas free’ prototype/test van, featuring a new diesel-powered heating and cooking system, 250 litre Danfoss compressor fridge/freezer, Enerdrive lithium battery management system, and the company’s latest trailing arm coil suspension with “unique patented variable rate coil springs… for superior ride, tracking and stability under both light and heavy loads”.
Promising a “show stopper”, Melbourne’s Roadstar Caravans will also debut a hardcore version of its off-road Safari Tamer van called the Bigfoot, featuring 35in Mickey Thompson wheels and tyres, hydraulic disc brakes, and airbag suspension.
Fast-growing Gold Coast manufacturer Patriot will show off its third off-road model, a LandCruiser ute conversion with unique camper tray set-up dubbed the LC200 Supertourer, while Sunshine Coast repairer turned off-road caravan manufacturer, Nioka Caravans, will unveil its new Bushtracker/Kedron rival.
NSW-based off-road rivals Ultimate and Complete Campsite are also expected to have their latest models on display including the tough-looking Xplor XTerra and family friendly, top-spec hybrid model, the Exodus 16.
The Brisbane show will also feature the full line-up of brightly coloured Winnebago caravans for the first time in Queensland, and the public debut of the luxurious 33ft, US-built Tiffin motorhome.
Melbourne’s Paramount Caravans is also set to unveil an RV industry first in the form of a new lounge/bunk bed conversion for its family models.
Around 50,000 punters are expected to attend Australia’s third biggest RV show, which will include more than 200 exhibitors promoting the latest caravans, motorhomes, camper trailers, fifth-wheelers, slide-ons, RV, 4x4 and camping accessories as well as travel destinations and holiday parks.
Along with daily seminars, family entertainment during the seven-day show includes a Camping Kids Zone, Campfire Cooking Stage, rock climbing wall, roving musicians, and Trixie & Johnno’s Reno-Van Challenge.
Tickets are available from the Supershow website or at the gate, and cost $18 for adults and $12 concession. Accompanied school children are free and organisers advise to catch public transport as there is limited parking.
