NSW Supershow celebrates big four-oh
The NSW Caravan, Camping, 4WD and Holiday Supershow celebrates its 40th anniversary when it opens its gates at the Rosehill Racecourse from March 29 to April 6With more than 400 exhibitors and crowds of over 86,000 visitors, the largest caravan and camping show in Australia has come a long way from humble beginnings in the 1960s, when it was a small event held in Concord's Cintra Park.
The Caravan and Camping Show, as it was then known, moved from Concord to the Royal Agricultural Showground at Moore Park before moving to Yennora Woolsheds. The Caravan and Camping Industry Association of NSW (CCIA NSW) took over management in the 1980s and relocated it to its present home at Rosehill Racecourse.
In 1994, the name was changed to the current mouthful to reflect the growth of the show as a result of the thriving caravan and camping industry, though most refer to it simply - and appropriately - as "the Supershow".
If you're after caravans, motorhomes, campervans, camper trailers, fifth wheelers, slide-ons, tents and camping equipment, caravan and 4WD accessories, 4WD vehicles and a range of entertainment, this is the show for you.
The gates are open daily from 10am to 5pm, with free parking. There's a train station on site, or take Bus 904 from Parramatta Station to the Mercure Hotel. Admission is $18 for adults and $13 for pensioners; accompanied children under 16 years are admitted free.
