Caloundra, Queensland's North Coast Campers has thrown its hat into the surging compact hard roof camper market with its new 9ft long SniperX.9, which has just gone on sale, fully-equipped, for $45,000.
With an overall length for its composite body and galvanised steel chassis of 4015mm and an identical 1850mm height and width, the new SniperX.9 is larger than the 3000mm long, 1745mm tall and 1850mm wide Patriot X2 soft-floor camper trailer, but has a smaller footprint and lower Tare weight than the just-released 4300mm long x 2150mm tall x 1950mm wide and 900kg Tare Australian Off Road Sierra that is built just a few kilometres away on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.
Fitted with ORV coil suspension and off-road shock absorbers and riding on 16-inch wheels shod with monster 35 x 12.5-17 A/T tyres, the SniperX.9 comes well-equipped for the money.
Designed for extended and comfortable off-grid remote living. including in the package is a total of 140 litres fresh water capacity, and a Redarc battery management system linked to a 100Ah lithium battery and a 200 Watt glass solar panel, that together power its inside/outside 85-litre fridge, LED lighting and a soundbar.
Inside, beneath its front-hinged pop-top roof, with access via a drop-down rear step, there’s a queen-size inner spring mattress (or a single twin-bed option) with under-bed storage.
Outside, the X.9 is equipped with a truck-mesh stone shield behind a McHitch 360 degree trailer coupling, while it has four large opening windows, a stainless steel two-burner external slide-out kitchen, two large lockable storage lockers, a hot/cold shower in a built-in external shower-room, plus a quick-opening 1220mm x 1830mm overnight awning with a larger 4265mm x 2440mm built-in awning provided for longer stays.
The only listed option is a space heater.
