There are many ways to 'pack light' when going on a camping trip, from throwing the swag on the roof-racks and chucking the esky in the back, to more innovative solutions like slide-out 'pantries' and all-in-one 'cook' boxes.
But now there's another easy-camping solution on the way, with a new American designed Nomad Kitchen about to hit the market.
Designed to slot into the back of a range of vehicles, from smaller hatchbacks to larger SUVs and utes, the Nomad Kitchen is described as "a compact removable kitchen system, great for everyone from the hardcore adventurer to the casual weekend warrior".
Featuring a heavy-duty slide-out with locking drawers designed to hold up to 90kg, the Nomad Kitchen includes a stainless steel washbasin, bamboo cutting board, and various storage areas.
There's also space for a water tank and two burner stove (sold separately), drying rack, and accessory hangers for rubbish bags, gas bottle and condiments.
Securing the unit inside the vehicle is as simple as lifting it in and tying it down with the supplied ratchet straps. Fitted, it takes up a space of around 65cm x 36cm x 59cm.
If all goes to plan (and COVID-19 permitting), the first Nomad Kitchens are expected to roll out to buyers later this year. You can check on progress here.
