As of this month, Jayco's flagship Sterling range of touring and pop-top caravans will be fitted as standard with AL-KO Electronic Stability Control (ESC) technology, offering buyers peace of mind as well as savings of up to $990.
According to AL-KO, Jayco is now one of more than 30 caravan brands offering the potentially life-saving technology as either standard or optional equipment.
AL-KO marketing manager Brad Hooper, said to have Australia's top-selling RV manufacturer adopt the innovative technology "is a big step forward in ensuring the highest possible level of safety on our roads".
“We are extremely pleased that Jayco has recognised the significance of AL-KO Electronic Stability Control by making it standard on their Sterling range," he said. "We believe this is a new era in towing safety, and a technology that will ultimately save lives."
The Melbourne-manufactured AL-KO ESC was introduced in May, 2012 as the world's first anti-sway stability control system for electric-braked caravans. It utilises electronic sensors that detect any dangerous sideways movements of the caravan, taking preventative action immediately to maintain stability of both the car and caravan and ensure a safe recovery.
In addition to fitment to new caravans, the anti-sway system is also now available for fitment to older caravans by certified AL-KO installers.
