One of America’s most famous and popular RV brands will be officially launched at the Victorian Caravan, Camping & Touring Supershow next month.
A full representation of the new Australian line-up of Winnebago RV models, including the colourful range of US-built Minnie caravans, will be unveiled at a launch party on the eve of the Victorian Supershow, which runs February 11-16 at the Melbourne Showgrounds.
Although
Winnebago motorhomes have for many years been sold in Australia by another, locally-based manufacturer, this will be the first time that the American RV giant has entered the Australian market, after signing a deal last year with
Queensland-based Apollo Motorhome Holidays.
Winnebago Industries is one of America’s largest RV manufacturers, producing more than 400,000 motorhomes, campers and caravans since 1966.
Best known for its super-sized motorhomes, the Forest City, Iowa-based manufacturer started building caravans and fifth-wheelers for the first time in 27 years, in 2012, and it’s the eye-catching fibreglass Minnie caravans, available with red, orange, yellow and bright green exteriors, that are designed to catch the attention of Aussie buyers.
“As one of the world’s most iconic lifestyle brands, US-based Winnebago Industries has endured due to its dedication to delivering exceptional products that meet their customers’ needs,” said Apollo Motorhome Holidays CEO, Luke Trouchet.
“The brand represents freedom and fun, and we’re sure the inaugural 2015 range will generate great interest from Australian travellers,” he said.
Winnebago RV’s 2015 fleet is a combination of US-built, Australian-designed caravans and fully Australian-built motorhomes. Prices range from $40,000 for compact caravans, through to $170,000 for top of the range motorhomes.
Winnebago USA Towables President, Johnny Hernandez, will be in Melbourne for the launch, where more announcements are expected about the growing Winnebago nationwide dealer network, which according to the
Winnebago RV website currently includes Australian Motorhomes in NSW, the Winnebago Brisbane Superstore in Queensland, Camperagent RV Centre in South Australia, and Albury-Wodonga RV World on the Victorian-NSW border.
