The competition for the title of Australia's best value campervan is heating up, with Queensland-based Stoney Creek Campers displaying its new LDV-based Timberland campervan at the 2024 Queensland Caravan Supershow with a very special show price of just $79,000 plus stamp duty.
That's approximately $20,000 less than the regular $99,990 drive-away pricing advertised on the Stoney Creek website, with special terms and conditions applying to the deal at the show including a limit of one per customer.
Introduced recently, the Timberland is the first campervan from the 12-year old Stoney Creek Campers brand, and is based on the high-roof, rear-drive LDV Deliver 9 van, with 108kw/375Nm, 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine and six speed automatic transmission.
Available in either Pacific Blue or Blanc White exterior paint, the 5.94m long and 3.0m high Stoney Creek Timberland is a well-equipped two-berth campervan for the price, with access to the internal living area through a sliding side door or rear barn doors, or from the driver's and passenger's seats.
Externally, it comes standard with a reversing camera, a powered awning and electric entry step, two LED annexe lights, a 23in TV and a Bluetooth stereo with speakers, a kitchen sink with mixer tap, induction cooktop, microwave, 49L compressor fridge/freezer, and an adjustable dining table and two bench seats that convert to a 2.0m x 1.7m double bed at night.
There's also an internal combination shower/toilet which includes a sink and tap, and it's set up for off-grid camping with a 400Ah lithium battery system with 12v 20A dual input DC to DC battery charger with MPPT, 3000W inverter and 300W rooftop solar. There's also 120L fresh water, 50L grey water and a 90L fuel tanks, and it comes with a standard payload of 600kg.
Internally, you also get a touchpad digital monitor, LED lighting, a roof-mounted air conditioner, and various storage including under the seats and in overhead cabinets.
The aftermarket black alloys on the show van is an option, as is a bike rack, fly screen protection for side and rear doors, roof ladder and leatherette front seats.
Like other Chinese-built camper and hybrids from Stoney Creek, the new Timberland campervan also comes with an RVMAP International accreditation badge.
