Sydneysiders will be able to stock up on some RV goodies just before Christmas with a new caravan show to be held at the Sydney Showgrounds in November.
The state’s peak industry body, the Caravan & Camping Industry Association (CCIA) NSW, has announced the launch of a new caravan and camping expo to be held at the Sydney Olympic Park venue in Homebush, from November 3-6.
The CCIA NSW said the new four-day event, to be called the Sydney Caravan, Camping & RV Expo, will have a full range of all the latest RVs, holiday spots and products.
“This new Expo will showcase the best of our industry, and it’s at the perfect time of year to provide inspiration for people as they start to plan their summer holidays,” CCIA President Theo Whitmont said.
“The announcement of the new show comes at an excellent time for the industry due to major construction works happening at our Penrith Expo venue, making it impossible to run our show there this year.
“By securing the new Sydney Showground venue in November, we will be able to continue to deliver two major shows in the greater Sydney area this year."
As well as the annual Penrith Expo, which was scheduled to run September 7-10, the industry association has also "postponed" this year’s South Coast Expo in Batemans Bays, which was going to be held at the same time as the new Sydney shoe.
Much to the relief of many exhibitors, who felt nine days including two week-ends was too long, the CCIA NSW has also cut back the duration of this year’s NSW Caravan, Camping and Holiday Supershow at the Rosehill Racecourse in Paramatta to six days. It kicks off this year on Anzac Day (April 25) and runs until April 30.
The CCIA NSW also runs the annual Newcastle Caravan, Camping and Holiday Expo, which is next scheduled for February 8-11, 2018. For more on RV shows click here.
