Belle RV, one of the newest names in the Australian RV industry, has whipped the covers off a brand-new, cut-price two-berth motorhome at this year’s NSW Caravan Camping and Holiday Supershow.
Packed with camping and comfort features for its enticing $108,950 (drive-away, NSW) price, the LDV Runaway Touring Van is based on the long wheelbase mid-roof LDV Deliver 9, which was launched in Australia in 2020 with a 110kW/375Nm 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, driving the rear wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission.
The couple's campervan has just about everything you need for an extended holiday, including an internal kitchen with Thetford two-burner gas cooktop and large upright compressor fridge/freezer, NCE microwave and rangehood, along with a Gree rooftop reverse-cycle air-conditioner, water pump, internal bathroom with shower and toilet, external shower, instantaneous gas hot water service, two 4kg gas bottles, wind-up antenna, wind-out awning, internal and external LED lighting, 120watt solar, DC to DC charger and a single AGM house battery.
Like most campervans of this size, the 'day mode' rear lounge/dinette converts to an east-west, circa 2.0m long double bed for sleeping.
The new Belle RV LDV Runaway Touring Van is converted in Melbourne by Roma Caravans and lead times are running at about four months at present. It's not the first campervan conversion from Australia's oldest caravan manufacturer, which released a Fiat Ducato-based Roma Clipper campervan in late-2021 priced around $135,000 -- the first motorised RV in its 93-year history.
