Melbourne-built Roadstar caravans will soon be available in the Sunshine State, with the opening next month of a brand-new, full service Roadstar dealership in the Brisbane suburb of Redcliffe.
Luxury car industry veteran Martin Roller and long time business partner Marvin Burke are behind the new venture, after recently securing Queensland distribution rights for the 30 year-old Melbourne caravan manufacturer.
Roller, who was an owner of Brisbane BMW for two decades and has worked in sales and marketing roles at BMW Australia, said the new dealership located on a former Ford retail site on the corner of Anzac Ave and Oxley Ave will be a 'one stop shop' for capital city caravan buyers.
Opening its doors on February 1, the new Caravana Queensland outlet will have 15 Roadstar caravans on display, as well as a number of used vans and new and second-hand SUVs suitable for towing.
An experienced team has been appointed including RV industry veteran Brendan Saggers as general manager, while the centre will also include a 'state of the art' caravan service and repair workshop, finance and insurance specialist and a range of RV-related accessories.
There are also plans to sell soft furnishing and linen 'starter kits', and an on-site configurator will let buyers design their perfect caravan from various layouts, colours, decor and options available.
"Our aim is not to be the biggest caravan dealership in Queensland but we definitely will be striving to be the best," Roller said.
"Consistent with some of the iconic automotive marques that Marv and I have had the pleasure to represent, Roadstar combine decades of experience combined with vision and technological know-how to produce contemporary, top quality caravans."
The opening of the new Brisbane outlet is the latest development in Roadstar Caravans since a change of ownership in 2009, and follows the move to a new Melbourne factory and dealership site and development of a range of premium full composite caravans in recent years.
