Reversing a big caravan into a tight spot at a caravan park is nerve-racking for many people. Unless you've been taught by a professional or have had plenty of practise, it can all end in tears...
However, the just-launched Reverse Mate caravan reverse aid is a clever new invention designed to take the guesswork out of reversing a caravan into a campsite.
"Guaranteed to save face and relationships", the Reverse Mate kit includes two lightweight aluminium markers that are used to line up the caravan in the correct position, after taking a few simple measurements of your van including its pivot point and pivot distance (see the video below for the full rundown).
Reverse Mate says it's a more accurate and user-friendly system than using witches hats. The bright orange markers come with a built-in tape measure as well as reflective tape and LED lights to make them easier to spot from your towing mirrors in the daytime or at night.
The fold-up markers are 600mm long and the whole kit including bag weighs around 2.6kg.
The Reverse Mate costs $199 online (plus $20 shipping anywhere in Australia), which includes the two markers, measuring tap and bag.
