New product: MaxTrax Trailer Skid

Get your trailer out of a bog easily with this new purpose-built recovery plank

The inventor of the original off-road recovery planks, has come up with a new version designed to easily recover your bogged camper, caravan or trailerboat out of mud, sand or snow.

Designed to be used either for dragging a jockey wheel or the trailer coupling, MaxTrax says the new Trailer Skid is compatible with most towing set-ups, including the ARK XO Series jockey wheels.

When attached it basically allows the trailer to be towed or winched to firm ground, after unhitching from the tow vehicle (see video below for how it works).

The Australian designed, engineered and manufactured MaxTrax Trailer Skid also keeps your valuable hitch and trailer mechanicals out of the grit, and doubles as a support platform for the jockey wheel when parked on soft ground.

It comes in MaxTrax's trademark 'Safety Orange' so you won't lose it in the sand or mud, and like the original MaxTrax planks can be easily mounted on the side or top of the trailer.

The MaxTrax Trailer Skid is priced at $199, from the MaxTrax store.
